Original restored German M42 helmet in size 68/61. The helmet was fully stripped of post war paint and repainted with the proper period paint. Comes fit with the correct liner and chinstrap.
Description
This is an original restored German M42 helmet in the highly desirable size 68. The helmet was maker marked Hpk indicating shell was made by Sachsishe Emaillerwerke, Lauter. The heating lot number indicates the helmet was made in late 1943 after the decal drop.
The helmet was fully stripped of all post-war paint and repainted the correct shade of field gray. The paint was mixed with real aluminum oxide powder to create a matte finish just like was done originally. The helmet’s dome is ink stamped with the proper inspector’s mark for this factory.
The helmet comes properly fit with a museum quality liner and chinstrap. The strap is RB marked on the tip as is often found on later war M42s.
This is a perfect helmet for a reenactor who needs a larger size.
