Original restored German M40 size 62 Normandy helmet. The helmet has been repainted and distressed to look and feel original.
Description
This original restored German M40 helmet is size 62/55. The shell was made by Emaillerwerke AG, Fulda and has a lot number that puts production in 1941. The helmet was fully stripped of post-war paint and repainted the correct shade of field gray, textured with aluminum oxide powder. The helmet proper Heer decal was applied with period varnish. The helmet was then camouflaged with a typical three-color Normandy scheme of tan, green and red-brown. The finish was mixed with saw dust to create a matt finish.
The helmet, liner and chinstrap have been heavily aged to look and feel like an original vet bring back. If you have ever wanted a Normandy camo helmet, this is a great example, that will turn some heads.
