Description

This M38 Fallschirmjäger helmet is one of the high-quality reproductions created by FJ Werke. The size, weight and shape are identical to those produced by Eisenhuttenwerke during WWII. This particular helmet is ET68 marked with a lot number that puts the production in 1941 if it were original.

The helmet’s restoration was inspired by helmets worn by Fallschirmjäger troops during operations in North Africa between 1941-43. The shell was properly painted field gray textured aluminum oxide. The Luftwaffe decal is the ET versions and was applied with period resin. The DAK camo used here is RAL 8000, one of the many shades of tan used in the desert.

The helmet was then heavily distressed to look and feel like an original example, perhaps something that was picked up by a vet in 1943 after the fall of Tunis.

The helmet’s liner and chinstrap all share all the detail found on an original from the railroad track stitching on the leather to original Prymm snaps on the chinstrap. The crash pad an spacer are made from real cloth laminated buna rubber.

Original DAK helmets are extremely rare. Here is your chance to have a great example, to round out your DAK collection.
