M1 swivel bale w/Westinghouse liner 79th ID
$420.00
Original restoration U.S. 79th Infantry Division M1 helmet with a Westinghouse liner. Distressed to look and feel original.
Description
This is an original restored U.S. M1 helmet with a Westinghouse liner. The helmet shell was made in 1944. It was fully stripped of post-war paint then repainted the correct shade of WWII olive drab. The paint was properly textured with cork. The 79th Infantry division insignia was hand rendered onto the front of the helmet as would have been done by the 79th in late 1944. Helmets like this would have been seen on members of the 79th during operations in the Ruhr pocket and other battles they took part in.
The helmet’s liner is an original 1944 production Westinghouse. The liner’s suspension is original. The other components are new but have been distressed to match the helmet.
The helmet has been heavily distressed to look and feel original and would fill out any WWII collection nicely.
