Restored German M42 helmet in size 68. Made by Eisenhuttenwerke in 1942. Fully restored with all the detail found on originals.
Description
This original restored German M42 helmet is ET68 marked indicating it was made by Eisenhuttenwerke. The heating lot number puts the shell produced sometime in mid 1942 after the M40 model transitioned to the M42.
The helmet was fully stripped of all post-war paint then repainted the correct shade of rough textured field gray. The paint is heat cured for maximum durability. The paint is textured with real aluminum oxide powder. The ET pattern SS decal was applied using real period resin and has nicely adhered to the textured finish.
The helmet comes fit with quality liner. The outer band is original. The chinstrap is real pig skin with paint steel hardware as was common on German helmets produced mid to late war.
This helmet looks exactly as it did when it left the factory back in 1942. Need more accuracy? Get a time machine.
