German M42 size 68/60 SS single decal

Original German ET68 marked M42. Restored with proper paint, liner, decal and chinstrap. Looks exactly as it did in 1942 when newly issued.
Description
This is a rare size 68 German M42 shell. The helmet is ET marked with a 2000 series lot number indicating the helmet was made by Eisenhuttenwerke in 1942 before the decal drop. The helmet was fully stripped of post-war paint and repainted the correct shade of field grey. The paint has aluminum oxide mixed into it to flatten the finish as was originally done. The inside of the dome was ink stamped with an inspector’s mark. The version used here is one of the variants found on original ET helmets. The SS decal has been applied with period resin and is the proper version for ET marked SS helmets.
The helmet comes properly fit with a steel frame liner and museum quality chinstrap. Both are marker marked and dated. The liner is a size 60 cm.
