German M35 Q marked helmet. restored to look and feel like an original SS parade helmet.
Description
This original restored German M35 helmet was made in 1939 by Quist. The helmet’s restoration was inspired by those worn by members of the SS during parade and sentry duty.
The shell was stripped of post-war paint and repainted the correct shade of apple green. An inspector’s ink stamp was applied in the dome. Like all original SS parade helmets the helmet was over-sprayed with black over the apple green factory paint.
The decals used here are the Poucher version which is the type used on SS parade helmets. The liner is dated 1939 as is the chinstrap. pre-war brass split pins were used to secure the liner.
The helmet has been carefully distressed to look and feel like and original example. The black finish has a nice patina, and the has the feel of a real vet bring back.
Original SS helmets can sell for 20k Here is a great example for a lot less.
