Restored German M40 helmet in size 68/61. Properly repainted the proper shade of field gray. Looks as it did when it left the factory back in WWII.
Description
This is an original restored German M40 in the desirable size 68. The shell was made by Emaillerwerke AG, Fulda. The helmet’s heating lot number is 9987 which may put production around late 1941 or early 1942.
The helmet has been fully stripped of post-war paint. The shell was then repainted the correct shade of field gray, textured with fine aluminum oxide powder. The inside of the dome has the proper EF style of inspector’s ink stamp, showing the helmet passed inspection.
The helmet comes fit with the museum quality M31 steel liner set into the helmet with steel split pins and slotted washers. The chinstrap is properly maker marked and dated and has steel hardware as is correct after 1940.
The helmet comes with your choice of museum quality decal. Research on the heating lot number indicates this helmet may have been Heer, but you can make it whatever you’d like. Size 68 M40s are quite rare these days. Grab this one while it is still here.
