Original German M35 helmet in size 66. Restored to look and feel like a battle worn Heer double decal. Helmet is size 66/59
Description
This original restored German M35 is SE66 marked indicating it was made by Sachsishe Emaillerwerke, Lauter in early 1938. The helmet was fully stripped of post-war paint then repainted the correct shade of pre-war pea green. Both the Heer decal and the national colors decal were applied using period resin. The helmet has been fit with the correct aluminum pre-war reenforced liner, set into the helmet with brass pins and slotted washers. The pins are a slightly lighter shade of field gray. This is a detail often seen on original example. The chinstrap is a museum quality replica and is dated 1938.
The helmet has been heavily aged to look and feel original. The finish shows chips and scuff from combat and storage. There is also evidence of being polish for parade or sentry duty. The helmet has great patina and will display well in any WWII collection. If you don’t have 3-5k for an original double decal this is helmet for you.
