Original restored SSH39 helmet in size 2 (56 cm). The helmet has been camouflaged for winter campaigns and distressed to look and feel original.
Description
This is a rare original Soviet SSH39 helmet in size 2 or (56 cm). The helmet’s liner frame is also original. The helmet was made sometime between 1939 and 1941 when the model was retired. The shell and liner band were fully stripped of post-war paint the repainted the proper shade of Soviet moss green.
The helmet was then brush painted with a coat of winter white camouflage. This was a common practice of Red Army troops during both Stalingrad and Leningrad.
The helmet’s chinstrap is original. The liner is a museum quality replica made from original twill close.
The helmet has been distressed to look and feel like a battle worn original. Perhaps something that was found in an old Russian attic in the 90s when such relics were still being uncovered.
