This is a rare Soviet SSH36 helmet shell. It is a size two and will fit up to a size 58 cm head size. This odd hybrid of the French Adrian and German M35 was developed in the 193os by the Soviet Union and would see action through all of WWII. The helmet would see action first in Mongolia against the Japanese, then in Finland in the Winter war, as Well as in Spain during the Civil War. By the time WWII started in 1939 the Soviets had upgraded to the new SSH39 helmet, but, still these helmets were never replace and can be seen in the Red Army all the way to the invasion of Manchuria in 1945. The helmet comes to you fully restored with liner, chinstrap, repainted the correct shade of moss green, with the option of a Red star on the front. It should be mentioned that while these helmets can be purchased cheaper on some auction sites they are almost always bondo-ed up disasters dug out of the mud of the Russian front. As can be seen here this helmet shell is flawless.
