This M35 German helmet is ET64 marked. The ET was stamped in gothic script which is only found on Eisenhuttenwerke helmets made prior to 1937. The lot number of this helmet put the production in early 1937.
The helmet has been restored to a pre-war SS configuration. Helmets like this would have been worn by SS units during the invasion of both Poland and France and to a lesser extent Russia.
The helmet was totally stripped of post-war paint. It was then repainted the correct pre-war shade of apple green. A dome stamp was applied in the helmet’s dome. museum quality decals were then varnished onto the helmet. The early pattern ET decal was used. The helmet was then fit with an original 1937 dated rebuilt liner. The pins and washes are the correct brass pattern used prior to 1940. The leather is high quality steer hide, distressed to look original. The chinstrap has the proper pre-war aluminum hardware.
The helmet has been toughly distressed to look and feel original. This is a wonderful example to put into any collection, if you can’t afford the 10K-15k originals fetch.
