Description
This is an original restored German M42 helmet. The shell was made in 1944 by Eisenhuttenwerke. The skirt is stamped cKL64.
The helmet was stripped of post-war paint then repainted with the correct shade of rough textured field gray. The inside of the dome with marked with the correct inspector’s ink stamp. A three color camouflage pattern was applied by brush. This pattern could have been seen during almost any of the ETO campaigns including Normandy. The helmet was also fit with a bit of bailing wire which bits of foliage and cloth might have been attached.
The helmet comes with the proper steel frame liner and a 1943 dated chinstrap with zinc coated steel hardware.
The helmet has been heavily aged to reflect combat and storage damage. The helmet has a great overall patina will look great in any WWII fan display.
