Description
This original German M16 helmet is size 66 and was manufactured by Quist.
The helmet was fully stripped of post-paint then repainted the correct shade of Great War field gray. The back of the skirt was marked with an inspector’s AK ink stamp. A hand rendered autumn camouflage pattern was applied. This is the version recommended by Ludendorff in his memorandum on the subject.
The helmet was fit with a M17 liner with the proper horsehair pillows. The chinstrap is made with original hardware, but the leather is new.
The entire helmet has been distressed to look and feel original, it will display quite nice in any Great War collection.
